The basics

What is assisted living — and how is it different from a nursing home?
Assisted living is for people who don't need round-the-clock medical care, but could use a hand with daily things — meals, medications, bathing, getting dressed. A nursing home provides skilled nursing for serious medical needs; assisted living is a home with support built in. At Minneola Place, residents keep their own routines and their own space, and our team fills in the gaps.
Is Minneola Place licensed?
Yes. Minneola Place is a licensed Assisted Living Facility in the State of Florida — license ALF #5456. That means we're regularly inspected and held to the state's standards for care, safety, and staffing. You're welcome to ask about our license on your tour; we're happy to talk about it.
What does "family-owned" actually mean for my parent?
It means the people who own Minneola Place are people you can actually talk to — not a corporate office in another state. We're part of the HomeBridge family of communities, and decisions here get made by people who know the residents by name. When something matters to your family, it doesn't go into a ticket queue. It gets handled.

Daily life

What's included in day-to-day life at Minneola Place?
Three home-style meals a day made right here on site, housekeeping, laundry, help with medications, and a full calendar of activities and life enrichment. Our health and wellness services are part of daily life too — not an add-on you have to chase down. The idea is simple: we handle the chores so your days are yours.
What are the meals like?
Home-style cooking, made from scratch in our own kitchen, three times a day. Think the kind of food you'd cook for family — because that's what it is. We get to know each resident's tastes and dietary needs, and the dining room doubles as the social heart of the house.
What do residents do all day?
As much or as little as they like. There's a daily rhythm of activities — games, gardening, music, outings, and time on the porch with a cup of coffee. Because we're a small community, activities follow what residents actually enjoy, not a corporate calendar. Visit our community life page to see what a week here looks like.

Care & health

How are care needs assessed?
Before move-in, every resident receives a health assessment as required by the State of Florida, and we sit down with you and your family to talk through daily routines, medications, and preferences. From that, we build a care plan that fits the person — and we revisit it as needs change. You'll never have to wonder who to talk to about it; just ask.
How do respite care and day programs work?
Respite care is a short-term stay — days or weeks — with all the same meals, care, and activities our full-time residents enjoy. It's a good fit when a family caregiver needs a break, travels, or a loved one is recovering after a hospital stay. Day programs offer the same support and company during daytime hours, with evenings back at home. Learn more on our respite care page.

Visiting & moving in

Can family visit?
Always. Family is welcome here — for a visit, for a meal, for an afternoon on the porch. We're right on Main Avenue in downtown Minneola, an easy drive from Clermont and the Greater Orlando area, so dropping in is simple. Grandkids especially welcome.
How do I schedule a tour?
Call us at (352) 394-6619 or send a note through our contact page, and we'll find a time that works for your family. Plan to stay a while — there’s a lot to see. Ten minutes here will tell you more than any website can.
What should we bring when moving in?
The things that make a room feel like home: a favorite chair, photos, a quilt, books, the lamp that's always been on the nightstand. We'll give you a simple checklist of practical items — clothing, toiletries, medications in their original containers — before move-in day. The furniture matters less than the memories; bring the memories.

Still have questions?

Every family's situation is a little different, and we'd rather talk it through than leave you guessing. Call us at (352) 394-6619 or send a note, and we'll get you a straight answer.
